Celtel offers customers Le350 million houseCeltel SL on Monday 3rd September 2007 has offered customers the opportunity of a life-time to own their own house worth Le350 million. Managing Director Ted Sauti Phiri in his statement described the promotion as a fitting reward for existing customers and newcomers. Speaking to journalists in a program covered life by radio stations in the country at the Mamba Point Guest House in Freetown, Ted said Celtel is getting bigger and better, citing that this latest offer to Celtel customers is the biggest promotion ever in the history of Sierra Leone. He encouraged others to join Celtel and stand the chance to be a proud landlord/land lady. Claudette Amuzu, last year’s proud winner of the Celtel Le300 million house, located in a plush part of Freetown, told her audience that it took a long, long time for her to get over the surprise of owning her own house. She recalled with fond memories the day the keys were handed over to her by the Vice President, Solomon Berewa, adding that Celtel has ‘made my life tremendously better ever since.’ ‘I encourage everybody to try their luck… may be you will be the lucky winner’, Amuzu said. She reviewed the company’s slashed tariff plans, noting that they are cheaper and affordable. Miss Amuzu described the recently launched Moonlight tariff plan as ‘a woman’s tariff’ for its one unit per minute billing. Brand and Communications Manager, Ann Marie Ansumana, explained the promotion’s mechanics. She said there will be ten weekly draws with five customers winning Le5million each, creating 50 millionaires by the end of the promotion in November, 2007. In addition, there will be two monthly draws in September and October with the star prizes being a mini-bus to be won each month. There will also be the grand draw for a Le350million house with the construction site to be determined by the lucky winner. Ann Marie said there will be consolation prizes for the weekly, monthly and grand draws ranging from TV sets, DSTV kits, and generators.
