One4all SIM-BASED PAYPHONE UNVEILED

Madam Yeali Serry, Chairlady of the Sierra Leone Petty Traders Association, on Tuesday 31st July 2007 unveiled to the business public the Celtel One4all sim-based payphone at an event at the Laura Dove JSS Hall, Dan Street. The launch, mixed with live music performances and drama demonstrating how the new product works, has been described as one of the most spectacular launches yet by Celtel SL. Madam Serry enthusiastically welcomed the new product, describing it as a fresh business opening which small businesses and individuals must seize. She boasted, amidst thunderous applause, that since she joined the network in 2000 she has never changed or swapped her Celtel sim for any other network.

Earlier, Managing Director Ted Sauti-Phiri gave the welcoming statement. He said Celtel is entering a new phase in its key objective to make life better for business partners and subscribers by introducing the first ever mobile payphone service in Sierra Leone. He said the new One4all product is designed specifically to increase people’s accessibility to mobile communication in the country with its accurate and clear billing facilities, among others. He said the product will establish and build trust between one’s business and the consumer. ‘I can assure you that this product is easy to use and convenient to operate and each business transaction is recorded so that there is no room for suspicion and mistrust between you and those you will be doing business with,’ Ted noted. He said in terms of closeness to the community and job creation opportunities no other network comes first beside Celtel.

Sales and Distribution Director, Keith Tukei, gave an overview of the One4all sim-based payphone service which he pointed out is a deliberate Celtel innovation to bring convenience and accessibility to our customers as well as instant business opportunity for our business partners. He explained that the One4all sim-based payphone brings with it four features.

  • Portability – the business could be transacted anytime and anywhere
  • Flexible billing – customers would be timed and billed accurately
