Yele launch

Sierra Leone’s leading mobile operator on Friday 13th of April launched its network in Yele, Gbonkolenken Chiefdom in the Tonkolili district.

In his statement, the Minister of Lands and Country Planning Dr. Alfred Bobson Sesay expressed gratitude at what he described as ‘the discovery of Yele’ a forgotten island in the heart of the Country. Dr. Sesay said that he was happy to have the biggest and credible mobile phone operator in the Country established in Yele which is incidentally his hometown.

Paramount Chief of Gbonkolenken Chiefdom PC Bai Sunthaba Osara 111 referred to the advent of Celtel as the greatest thing to have happened to his chiefdom in decades. He thanked Celtel for helping Yele to be part of the global village.

Celtel’s Marketing Director Bernard Sisay noted that the launching of various network in towns and Chiefdoms was a tradition which Celtel was proud of and use in order to associate itself with communities. He promised that they would continue to expand its network in the Tonkolili district.
