Presentation of 9kva generator to Kamakwie community

Friday 23rd June 2006 was a joyous day for the people of Kamakwei, as barely a year after Celtel launched its network in the town, they were back to help in the development of the chiefdom.

In his welcome address the Chiefdom Speaker Pa Alimamy stressed the important contribution Celtel has made to Kamakwei and said that Celtel’s continuous support towards the development of the community will never be forgotten.

In presenting the generator, the Marketing Officer Promotions and Events - Mr. Francis Minah said that Celtel’s slogan ‘Making Life Better ‘ was the main reason behind Celtel’s presence at Kamakwei barely a year after it launched it’s network in Kamakwei. He also said that a statement which the Paramount Chief made during Celtel’s launching in Kamakwei that “information is Power” was one thing that still remains fresh in the mind of the Management of Celtel.

In his statement PC Kandeh Luseni 111 expressed his pleasure in receiving Celtel, adding that their presence was an added endorsement of the cordial relationship existing between Celtel and the community. He also said that Celtel continues to bring satisfaction to its subscribers as it is the only reliable network in Sierra Leone. PC Luseni said that Celtel came at a favorable time to rescue the people of Sella Limba and for this, they will never forget Celtel. He also said that Celtel has added another milestone in the development of Sella Limba by donating a 9 KVA generator to the community. In expressing his gratitude to Celtel, PC Luseni said that he is overwhelmed by Celtel’s generosity and interest in the development of their chiefdom. In concluding he pledged his community’s faithfulness and support to Celtel and said that they will continue to be dependable business partners of Celtel.

In her vote of thanks the Chairlady Mrs. Theresa Saccoh on behalf of the community expressed their thanks and appreciation to Celtel for their kind gesture.
