Official launch of "Who Called"?

The official launch of "Who Called?" took place at the Mamba Point on Thursday 12th January 2006.

The occasion which started at 10am Prompt was graced by journalist from both the print and electronic media.

The event started with a welcome address from Dr Spencer of Premier Media, followed by a statement and the launching of the product by the Marketing Director of Celtel Mr. Bernard Sisay.

Journalists were then briefed on how the product works by the Marketing Director and the Marketing officer in charge of products and services.

How does it work?

"Who called?" is a value added services that notifies customers of calls received whilst their phone was switch off or whilst out of coverage area. An SMS is sent, which contains details of the caller ID, date and time of call and the amount of time that calls were received.

"Who called?" is activated automatically on phones that do not have voice mail. However if a subscriber has voice mail and prefer "Who called?" then he or she will have to call 111 and requested that it be activated he would then type the word "on" to 222. On the other hand a subscriber has the option to deactivate the service by sending the word "off" to 222.

It must be noted that a subscriber cannot have both who called and voice mail at the same time.
